The objective of the Sedro-Woolley Coalition is to select issues that concern the local community rather than the interests of people or organizations outside the community, and address these by offering forums that explore aspects of that subject.  We seek ideas that work toward solutions, rather than ones that serve an agenda.  We do not welcome, nor tolerate, accusations, intimidation, blame, or interruption.  It is our process that defines our group, and we offer the opportunity for others to voice, compare, and contrast their opinions in an atmosphere of respect and courtesy. The SWC as an entity does not endorse or sponsor any single concept or individual.  Groups may appeal to us for support, and we may comply by hosting a public event where the group may present their mandate and answer questions from the community.  While the SWC is a strong advocate for public education, we do not address this issue by way of biased politics or outside interests.  Rather, we look at what the residents of Sedro-Woolley want for their town, and the values they wish to hold forth as their identity.  We honor this by creating the opportunity for our community to listen to contrasting ideas, question and consider these respectfully on their merit, and to reach solutions that are fair to all. Our efforts began in March of 2025, and have led us to both disappointment, and to joy.    We are documenting our story through our postings, in the hope of providing inspiration, as well as a guide, to others who, like us, feel it’s time to turn and face the fear.
